Girls Inc. of Orange County is integrating VolunteerHub and Blackbaud’s eTapestry to bridge the gap between volunteers and donors, identify new opportunities, and track behavior.

The focus of the organization’s programs is to improve self-esteem, boost grades, prepare for higher education, and create economically independent woman in the community. Each year, Girls Inc. of Orange County programs support more than 4000 girls, ranging in age, from kindergarten to 18.

Volunteers, providing support to Girls Inc. of Orange County, play a pivotal part in allowing the organization to fulfill its mission. The organization utilizes, on average, the support of 600 volunteers per year directly and through their partnership with schools, community centers, and local colleges. Volunteers fill a variety of roles and support the organization across several capacities including working directly with the girls via organization programs and providing fundraising support.
“Our organization would not be able to make an impact in the lives of the girls we serve without the support and dedication of volunteers and donors. We appreciate them and their commitment to the cause,” said Stephanie
Prior to exploring volunteer management software, Girls Inc. of Orange County managed its volunteer program manually through a combination of paper log sheets and excel spreadsheets. The process only allowed the organization to create reports and measure volunteer impact on a quarterly and yearly basis due to the time commitment and investment needed to do so.
The team at Girls Inc. of Orange County knew there had to be a better way to collect data, run reports on demand, and communicate with supporters, prompting the decision to explore the best volunteer management solutions on the market.
“The manual process that we used to measure our program before investing in VolunteerHub was time-consuming and prone to error. We needed a more strategic way of collecting and reporting program impact,” said Stephanie
The team at Girls Inc. of Orange County vetted several volunteer management solutions before landing on VolunteerHub as the best solution for their program needs. The organization found that there were several features of VolunteerHub that set the software apart from other solutions on the market including the fundraising features, integration with Blackbaud’s eTapestry, reporting, and support.
VolunteerHub aligned with Girls Inc. and its goal to bridge the gap between volunteers and donors, streamline reporting, enhance fundraising capabilities, communicate with supporters, and bring the volunteer recruitment process online.
“Implementing VolunteerHub has made a positive impact on our volunteer program and our organization’s ability to understand the behavior of our supporters. The software is a key component of our success and ability to reach our mission here in Orange County,” said Stephanie.
Girls Inc. of Orange County is seeing many benefits of implementing VolunteerHub and streamlining its volunteer program and process. First, the integration with Blackbaud’s eTapestry is making it possible for the organization to identify relationships between volunteers and donors and potential cross-pollination opportunities. Second, they are using the communication features of VolunteerHub to quickly communicate with, register, and thank individual volunteers and groups. Third, the reporting capabilities of the software make it easy for the organization to produce reports, on-demand, and measure the impact of their program against goals.
“The tracking, communication, and reporting features of VolunteerHub have saved our organization a substantial amount of time and resources. We are very pleased with the solution and the support that we receive from the VolunteerHub team,” said Stephanie.
Girls Inc. will continue to pursue its mission until all girls in the Orange County area receive the support that they need to be successful. In order to achieve this goal, the organization plans to rely on volunteers now and in the future to support program goals.
